~ Reports from this site indicate large, visible migrations of some species rarely monitored elsewhere (e.g. seasonal counts of 2415 Horned Larks and 2874 American Pipits), as well as large numbers of hawks and owls.
~ The station's early focus was on hawk migration, but a song-bird program was initiated in 1995 and owl banding in 1996.
