~ The only research project in the western US to have a full-time, standardized forest owl migration banding project. Banded 902 forest owls during the 1999 fall migration, including more than 50 Flammulated Owls (more than were ever caught anywhere in migration) and over 850 Saw-whet Owls (more than ever caught in the western U.S. in migration).
~ The only bird observatory in the western U.S. that conducts all of the following during fall migration: diurnal raptor counts and banding, songbird counts & banding, and forest owl banding.
