~ Founded in 1994 as the Kiptopeke Environmental Station, Research and Education Laboratory (K.E.St.R.E.L.) It changed its name to CVWO in May, 1999.
~Nearly 246,000 birds of 157 species have been banded at the station. In the fall of 1998 alone, the station processed 8,500 birds.
