Winter 2002: Special Report Postscript: Adequate resting and debarkation areas for our Neotropical migratory birds along our Gulf Coast have been used for thousands of years by our birds in Spring and Fall transit. These areas are now badly threatened by high rises and so called "development" in the one-eyed name of profit and "jobs". Not all sources of profit (or jobs) should be considered clean or acceptable. The choking off of these natural transit points bears careful consideration and balance of other important, if not critical, values. Help our birds, save our shores.
